My 'lay out the running kit the night before' system has one flaw: night-before me still thinks it's August

Got up in the dark and put on the pile without thinking, exactly as designed. Shorts. Singlet. Out the door. It was three degrees. A man scraping frost off his windshield looked up and said "bold" in the tone doctors use for "interesting." I ran the full 12 km anyway, because turning back would mean evening me wins, and evening me did this to us.

evening you is a menace, and I say that as someone who once set a 4 a.m. alarm to feed a jar

we have a guy who shows up to shinny in shorts until the outdoor rinks freeze. we've stopped asking whether it's toughness or a laundry situation

I use that exact doctor-voice "bold" on every groom who insists he won't need a jacket for October portraits.
