Exposing for the highlights is the whole game. I can pull shadows up all day. A blown white dress is just gone, no slider brings that back.

Mostly agree. My one honest gripe is the computational sharpening — phone shots can look great at screen size and weirdly crunchy printed big. But for seeing practice? Phone is perfect. You shoot more, you learn faster.
