Caught a double rainbow tonight and the second one's colours run in reverse

Never noticed this before: the faint outer bow goes violet on the outside and red on the inside — a mirror image of the main one. That's just how the second reflection works, apparently. Shot it, obviously.

the dark strip between the two bows has a name too — Alexander's band. once you see it you look for it every time

just checked my shot and the dark band is right there. today the sky got more interesting

we get doubles after hailstorms constantly and I have never once clocked the reversal. going to be insufferable about this now
