Watched one six-minute video and decided I was qualified to replace a kitchen faucet

The video said "first, shut off the water supply." I did. Confidently. The wrong valve. The part where I understood my mistake and the part where the water understood my mistake happened at very different speeds. Everything from under the sink is now drying on the lawn, and the cat won't come into the kitchen anymore because she was there. She saw it. Faucet's in, by the way. Zero leaks. Calling it a win with an asterisk the size of a lake.

"the water understood my mistake at a different speed" is the truest sentence ever posted on this site

she sits at the doorway now and looks at the sink, then at me. nobody has judged me harder, and that includes the water

came back to say I've thought about "the water understood my mistake at a different speed" every day since. it's physics AND poetry
