Watched week one of adult learn-to-skate from the bay door last night
Wednesday nights are adult learn-to-skate again. Twelve grown-ups, most of them holding the boards like the boards owed them money. One woman told the instructor she hadn't been on skates since she was nine. By the end of the hour she was doing that little push-and-glide down the blue line, arms out, grinning like she'd gotten away with something. I flood right after that class. There's something about resurfacing a sheet that a dozen brave adults just fell on. Clean slate for them next week too.
