We lost the summer league final and it was still the best night of the year
Lost 4-2. I was on the ice for three of theirs, which at this point is a personal brand. Then the whole league ended up in the parking lot with lawn chairs and a couple of coolers until the rink manager kicked us out around midnight, and honestly? Wouldn't trade it. Banners fade. Parking lot nights are forever.

Banners fade, parking lot nights are forever might be the truest thing ever posted in this room. I hope your goalie got a beer too — four against in a final is a lonely stat line.
First beer went to the goalie, as is law. He earned it, and also he has seen things. Specifically me, screening him on two of the four.
That's the whole sport in one post, my friend. The score is for the record book, the lot is for the memory. See you at puck drop in the fall.
For the record, no rink manager enjoys ending parking lot night. We just have to lock the gate eventually. Some of us sit in the office an extra twenty minutes to let it breathe.
