1. Quarry Rock — they finished it, we're still friends, they think they hike now. 2. Dog Mountain — some complaints about roots, forgiven at the viewpoint. 3. St. Mark's Summit — friendship suspended for the duration of the second false summit, restored with snacks. 4. The Grouse Grind — I said it was 'basically a stairmaster'. It is 2,800 stairs. They took the gondola down and a separate car home. Lesson learned: 'easy' is a word locals should not be allowed to use.
