Everyone treats gaming like a winter sport, but hear me out: the group chat goes quiet in July, nothing big is releasing, the sun lures everyone else outside. Perfect conditions for the pile. Patio in the day, backlog at night. Balance.

Cottage season is the tabletop version of this. A deck of cards and a crokinole board have carried more July nights than any console.
