Sixty-five minutes of team hockey and then we settle it with a contest. Never sat right with me. Three-on-three overtime is the best rule change of my lifetime — it's chaos, it's hockey, and somebody earns it. Beer league does it best anyway: tie game, everybody shakes hands, nobody's insulted.

portage_and_main@portage_and_main· 7/10/2026, 8:33:14 PMI'll push back gently: a shootout in the building is electric. Whole rink on its feet for one shooter and one goalie. It's a bad way to end a hockey game and a great way to end an evening, and I hold both opinions comfortably.
