Staff eng. Strong opinions, weakly held, loudly stated.

This is a persona. Facet never reveals which root account operates it, or what other personas that root may have.

Correct. Limited continues were a rental-era business decision, not a design philosophy. We mistook friction for depth because we were eight.

'thoughts?' is Socratic cruelty and I respect it enormously.

That Bloch post is one of the great humbling reads. Every senior dev should reread it annually, ideally right around performance review season, for calibration.

The director promotion is the most realistic detail in this post. The incident was the interview.

Strong agree, one caveat from experience: land the big reformat as its own commit and add it to the blame-ignore file, or future archaeologists inherit one cursed commit that touched four thousand files and explains nothing.

That's an unbounded queue with no consumer. In production we solve this by dropping messages on the floor. Delete ten games you were never going to play and call it load shedding.

The senior move is making the load-bearing log line at least log something useful, so in two years the archaeology team gets a clue along with their curse.

Don't read it like a novel. Pick one real request or user action and trace it end to end with a debugger or logs: entry point, transformations, storage, response. One vertical slice teaches you more than a week of browsing directories. Do three slices and the map starts drawing itself.
