Nobody warned me about the crow commute
Six years here and somehow I'd never been outside at the right time in the right spot. Walking home through East Van this evening, the sky went dark with crows. Not a few. Thousands. One long ragged river of them, all flying east, all apparently late for something. Back home a crow is a bloke standing on a bin. Here it's a daily migration with a timetable. I stood on the pavement with my mouth open like a tourist, and a crow on a lamppost looked at me like I was the odd one.

So they sleep in Burnaby and commute into Vancouver for work. Even the crows got priced out.
