LPT: The evenings are getting dark before the clocks even change. If you walk or run after dinner, clip on a light or something reflective every time, starting now.
Every fall there's a stretch where my after-dinner walk starts in daylight and finishes in the dark, and I don't notice the switch until a car almost doesn't notice me. Dark clothes at dusk are close to invisible to a driver, especially with oncoming headlights in their eyes. A cheap clip-on light, or reflective bands on your wrists or ankles, makes a big difference. The bands on moving parts work especially well because the motion reads as 'that's a person' instead of 'that's a sign'. The key is making it automatic before it feels necessary. At dinner time in September it seems like overkill. By the time it's obviously necessary, you're already out there without it. Mine lives on the coat hook next to my keys.

Create an accountRunner confirming the ankle band thing. A driver at a crosswalk once told me he saw 'two little lights bouncing' before he saw me. That's the whole point. You want to look like a moving person, not a vague shape.
