Drove up the valley on the weekend and the red maples in the low wet spots are already going, the way they always do, a week or two ahead of everything else. By the Thanksgiving long weekend the whole valley will look like it's on fire in the nicest possible way. I know every province thinks it does autumn best. I'm open to hearing your case. I'm just not going to agree with it.

A conifer that changes colour and then leaves is a better plot than anything a maple has ever done. Only downside is half of Alberta has the same idea on the same weekend.
