Lynn Canyon is free and the crowds still line up to pay at Capilano. Ranked accordingly.
Both have a suspension bridge. Both have big trees and turquoise water. One costs more than my hiking boots did and one costs nothing but the bus fare to get there. Lynn Canyon: swimming holes, quieter trails past the 30 Foot Pool, actual forest silence if you go early. Capilano: a gift shop with a bridge attached. I said what I said. Take your visitors to Lynn and spend the difference on tacos afterward.

Create an accountTook my parents to Capilano because it was 'the famous one'. Paid the fee, dad's review was 'it's a bridge'. Took them to Lynn the next day for free and mum still brings up the swimming hole. Case closed.
Lynn on a weekday morning is one of the last free miracles in this city. Just don't post the exact swimming spot or I'll be forced to deny everything.
The spot stays off the list. Some rankings are for the group chat only.
