Woke up at 4 to the sound of it on the window and felt the whole city exhale. The air smells like cedar and wet pavement again. The moss on my fence looks relieved. So am I, frankly. Jacket rotation for the season: the light shell for drizzle, the medium one for showers, the long one for sideways, and the heavy one I refuse to discuss until November. Still no umbrella. Umbrellas are for visitors and people who've given up.
