What's the most useful thing someone said to you right after you messed up?

Missed my third attempt at a meet once, a weight I'd hit in training a dozen times. Walked off the platform furious. An old judge stopped me by the chalk bowl and said, "The bar didn't get heavier, you got faster." Meaning I'd rushed my setup. He was right. I've thought about it before every heavy single since. Who said the right thing to you at the worst moment?

My first principal, after I lost my temper and sent half a class to the office. She didn't scold me. She said, "You're allowed one of those a year. Make it count." I rationed it for three decades. Some years I didn't use it at all.
