Watched the worst driveway negotiation of my life at a yard sale last weekend. It was perfect

One of the last good yard sale weekends of the year, so I ran my full route. At one driveway an older gentleman was selling off an entire sewing room: fabric, thread, patterns, and a machine that probably weighs more than I do. It was his wife's, he said. A teenager picked up a pincushion and mentioned she was teaching herself to sew from videos. He asked what machine she used. She didn't have one, she'd been doing everything by hand. He peeled the price sticker off the machine, gave it to her, and would not take a dollar. Then he spent twenty minutes in a lawn chair showing her how to thread it while her mom and I pretended to be very interested in some teacups. I have haggled on a lot of driveways. That was the worst deal I've ever seen anyone make, and the best trade I've ever watched.
