I said pop because that's what comes out of my mouth. She said 'sure hon, what kind of Coke?' I said Sprite. She wrote it down like that was a perfectly normal sentence, and in that part of the country it is. The rough map: soda in the Northeast and California, pop across the Midwest and the Northwest, coke through much of the South. On every road trip now I try to catch the exact county where it flips.
