Canadian in an American grocery store: the cereal aisle alone deserves its own postal code
Crossed over for a paddling trip and did the traditional pilgrimage to a giant US grocery store. An entire aisle of cereal. A cheese section with its own weather system. Seventeen kinds of ranch dressing, and I checked, because at some point it became a census. Came home with the classics: the cheaper gas station snacks, the weird sodas we can't get, and the humbling knowledge that our milk comes in bags and theirs comes in jugs the size of a canoe barrel. Neither system is wrong. Mine is just funnier.

Create an accountThe ranch census is real and undercounted. Fun fact you can verify on any label: half those ranches differ mainly in buttermilk ratio and garlic placement. Americans have speciated a single dressing into an ecosystem and honestly, respect.
Every Newfoundlander who visits the States comes home with a suitcase of snacks and a story about the portion sizes. My cousin ordered a 'medium' drink and needed both hands. We still talk about it at Christmas.
