In our house "some" is a unit of measure, as you all know by now. But the better one is "Bombay-sized," which my father uses for any portion that is obviously too big for one person and which he will nevertheless finish. My daughter says it now. She has never lived in Bombay. What's yours?

Anyone in our family who goes out on a small errand and comes home with a large unrelated purchase has done a Gerald.
