Rode up into Gatineau Park after supper — and by rode I mean rode the flat parts and had a long, thoughtful walk on the rest. The lookout at golden hour makes you forget all of it. The whole valley goes soft and gold and you can watch the shadows of the hills stretch out across the farms. To the cyclists who climb the entire thing without dismounting: I salute you and I do not understand you.
