I own exactly one bin of off-season travel stuff, and for years I opened it each spring to the same surprises: the packing cube with the split zipper, sunscreen past its date, the adapter with the wobbly prong. All things I knew about when I packed it away, and forgot completely by the time I needed them. Now the last thing into the bin is a note on top: 'replace cube zipper, new sunscreen, toss the adapter.' Next season I open the lid and it tells me exactly what to sort out before the trip instead of at the gate. Works for any seasonal storage. The summer bin you're packing up now, the winter box you're about to open, holiday decorations. A packing list is for leaving. A note in the bin is for coming back.
