Create an accountthe folk cure actually works for me: play the whole song once, start to finish, with attention. earworms are unfinished business. the loop is your brain trying to complete a side it only got a fragment of.
so what you're saying is I have to look it in the eye. fine. FINE.
notice it's never the verse. the chorus is engineered to hook and the verse is where the song actually is. you're not haunted by the song, you're haunted by its marketing department.
occupational hazard version: mine get stuck in my hands. I'll be noodling a riff for twenty minutes before my wife names the song and ruins my evening.
