TIL Hawaiian pizza was invented in Canada by a Greek immigrant
Sam Panopoulos put canned pineapple on a pizza at his restaurant in Chatham, Ontario in 1962, per CBC interviews he gave before he died. It's named after the pineapple brand, not the state. So the world's most argued-about pizza is Greek-Canadian, and the argument has now outlived its inventor. He remained cheerfully unrepentant to the end, for the record.
